Thanks. I want to make an image of the Win7 partition first then
reformat the HD and reload the image. I really want to get a full Win7
upgrade disc and start from scratch thus bypassing all the 'crap' installed
at the factory. I know I can go in and uninstall a lot of it, but there's
code embedded I the registry that's hard to get rid of, so maybe in the
future I will do that, I just have to be sure I know what I'm doing first, I
have some mission critical apps and data I can't lose. It's funny,
because every blue moon, after selecting Win7 on had, etc the windows
boot loader pops up with only Windows 7 as an option and no timer you just
hit enter and continues on normally. I'm guessing that the windows loader
or part of it is still on the MBR somewhere and GRUB is suppressing it?

I think all laptops and computers come this way anymore. Nobody sends
the disks. You have to make your own.
